Tread pattern and compound
Thanks to the innovative SmartNET silica compound and ICS and FDG technologies, the Cinturato guarantees an unparalleled driving experience. The nanoparticles with their elongated shape create a stable network within the rubber, increasing the natural chemical affinity of silica to water. In this way, the typical compromise of conventional rubber compounds is overcome. This allows low rolling resistance, durability and puncture resistance to be maintained.
An aramid fiber belt is placed directly under the tread to protect the tire from foreign bodies that can cause punctures. Aramid is a fibre with high cut and abrasion resistance: its low weight and flexibility ensure low rolling resistance and high overall tyre performance.
From bead to bead
A high density nylon belt extends across the full width of the carcass and under the tread with the puncture protection layer: it additionally protects the tyre from cuts in all areas and provides grip when driving at low inflation pressures. Nylon is a fibre with high cutting, abrasion and tensile strength. Its low weight and high density also help make the tyre airtight when used in combination with a sealing fluid in a tubeless ready configuration.
TLR bead profile
A special bead profile has been developed to optimally bond and hold the tubeless Ready rims, as well as a special material and construction that also allows easy hose assembly without compromising sealing and safety in a tubeless configuration with sealing fluid.
The tread, built on a 60 tpi carcass, features Pirelli Functional Groove Design and Ideal Contour Shaping Technology: the textile carcass is designed to provide optimum contact patch, while the different radius of curvature between the tread and the sides allows controlled deformation of the tyre at different speeds and lean angles. In addition, the tread groove design, derived from our experience in motorcycle racing tyre construction, ensures optimum water drainage at different angles and power loads while maintaining low noise levels and fast warm-up times for immediate maximum grip.
