andmade tires combine a variety of outstanding features to provide the highest comfort and lowest rolling resistance. Carefully selected materials are used depending on use performance requirements in the different tire levels. Soft, supple carcasses quickly adapt to the shape of the ground when rolling and cornering. This increases ground contact and grip and improves shock absorption on poor road surfaces. Soft, natural rubber treads are combined with lightweight, flexible puncture protection.
You can think of the three types of handmade carcasses as similar to shirts made of the same material. The finest carcasses are made from silk just like the finest suits, ties, scarves and shirts. Silk is a strong, soft, natural fiber, but its high cost and intricate processing mean that this level of quality is reserved almost exclusively for world championships and Olympic competitions.

Latex tubing
Latex tubing is strong, lightweight and extremely flexible. They absorb shocks and significantly reduce rolling resistance by being able to adapt ideally to obstacles.

Handmade natural rubber - Smart hardness grade
Challenge's handcrafted natural rubber treads are compounded to provide the perfect level of durability without sacrificing performance, comfort and control. Challenge tires wear out 10-20% faster than the competition, but score with significantly improved performance and noticeably better feel throughout their life. Depending on the requirements, the tires are equipped with different soft rubber compounds.
The Smart hardness grade is the variant of Challenge's natural rubber compounds optimized for long service life.

Puncture Protection System (PPS)
The PPS (Puncture Protection System) puncture protection system consists of one or more layers of fabric between the tread and the tire carcass. PPS significantly increases the tire's resistance to punctures and thus offers maximum reliability.
