Sometimes you just need a new coat of paint. Designed with SRAM RED eTap components in mind, the PowerdomeX is still the most advanced cassette ever made. It is extremely light, silent and offers a clear performance advantage. The nine middle sprockets were made from a single block of high-quality tool steel. They offer higher rigidity and weigh less than a titanium cassette. Between each pinion in the pinion block is a stealth ring elastomer that absorbs vibration and sound. Openings at the rear sprocket provide a lower weight and additional stiffness. The cassette is the last piece in the drive puzzle and, in combination with the SRAM RED rear derailleur, enables ultra-fast and whisper-quiet shifting operations that guarantee you always get the right gear ratio.SRAM RAM RED 22 chain
The new SRAM RED 22 chain has even more rounded outer links for improved shifting operations and quieter running. Further improvements include a new inner link surface and pins reinforced with chrome for a longer chain service life. The HollowPin design of SRAM's 11-speed chain allows smooth, precise shifting and weight savings without compromising strength.
Wireless shifting, battery energy management and mechatronics - the RED eTAP technology serves one goal: to offer you the most intuitive operation possible. SRAM designates the shifting logic behind it as eTAP. The right lever shifts into the larger gear, the left lever into the smaller gear. The chainrings you can control über both levers. Simple, smooth and intuitive.
Etap transmits the shifting signals with 128-bit encryption using SRAM's proprietary wireless protocol AIREA. If an eTap group is configured, a new encryption key is generated each time and assigned to the individual components. Inspired by the combination of the cassette models OG1090 (SRAM RED) and XG 1099 (SRAM XX), this hollow construction made of heat-treated, high-quality tool steel offers CNC-milled pinions and openings at the rear for lower weight and additional rigidity. It is the stiffest and lightest cassette SRAM have ever produced.
SRAM's WiFLi technology serves a wider transmission range than a mechanical rear derailleur with short cage. Compared to three chainrings, it ensures faster shifting and considerable weight savings.

The chain engineers at SRAM have developed PowerLock as a tool-free, safe and constant way of connecting the chains. Although PowerLock does not require any special tools for installation, each PowerLock can only be used once, given the narrow tolerance range of a 10, 11 and 12-speed drive.
